Role: Project Manager while at MBI Companies for a multiphase, $24M renovation encompassing approximately 267,000 SF, with a focus on systems upgrades and interior renovations.
Design Intent: The design centered on creating high-quality student environments that support gathering, rest, and daily campus life, while integrating university branding and intuitive wayfinding throughout the building.
Drawing inspiration from the existing concrete coffered ceilings, a square motif was carried through flooring patterns and lighting elements, unifying the building’s multiple additions and architectural eras into a cohesive whole.
In the dining areas, natural light from existing skylights informed a more open, outdoor-inspired atmosphere, featuring parquet-style tile flooring and picnic-style seating to encourage a welcoming, communal experience.
