Role: Member of the design and construction documentation team while at MBI Companies for a $96M new Middle and High School campus in Hamilton County, a two-story, approximately 267,000 SF educational facility.
Design Intent: The project establishes a unified campus environment that supports both Middle and High School programs while maintaining clear identity and independence for each. Administrative support spaces are centrally located, with dedicated academic wings for each school, including separate gymnasiums, while shared facilities such as the library, dining hall, and auditorium foster collaboration and community across both student populations.
The exterior composition combines utility gray and modular red brick to define academic and civic areas, while gray metal panels articulate the gymnasiums and auditorium. The main entrance is marked by an angled metal canopy and a glass curtain wall, creating a strong civic presence.
Inside the lobby, a monumental circular stair beneath clerestory windows serves as a focal point, drawing natural light deep into the space and visually connecting to the academic corridors on either side. The dining area, located on the lower level, is filled with natural light and opens directly to an outdoor courtyard, extending student life beyond the building envelope.
