Role: Project Architect while at MBI Companies for the interior renovation of the Chattanooga City Hall Lobby, focused on improving security, visibility, and operational efficiency while maintaining an open and welcoming civic reception space.
Design Intent: The design carefully balances enhanced security requirements with an approachable public experience, ensuring the historic civic character of the building remains intact while improving functionality for daily use.
Tall planters were introduced to subtly define spatial zones without creating visual barriers, helping organize circulation while preserving openness. Custom reception and security desk millwork was designed to integrate functional requirements with a cohesive architectural language, supporting both staff operations and public interaction within the lobby.
